I always asked my dad if I could have a pet

And I remember him saying, "I don't think you're ready yet"

But one day he came home and said I had to close my eyes

And so I waited patiently for my big surprise

What is it dad? A puppy, or a gerbil?

His name is Patience, and he's a baby turtle

Every night I feed him before I go to bed

And when he is done eating I pet him on the head

Patience is a happy turtle who’s never in a hurry

He knows I will take care of him so he doesn't have to worry

He may be slow but he takes time to enjoy his day

His favorite part being when I take him out to play

I know that Patience makes my life great

Cause good things always come to those who wait
